Welcome to the NEC UX-5000 Desktop Suite. The NEC UX5000 Desktop Suite provides several telephony utilities within one flexible application. Included in this package are an IP SoftPhone, a PC Assistant to control a desktop telephone, and a PC-based attendant console for performing operator or receptionist duties. Through this application, a user has access to many of the standard and enhanced features of the NEC UX5000 telephone system, whether sitting at their office desk, working in a conference room, or traveling out of the office.
The SoftPhone takes advantage of the convergence of voice and data by bringing all of the capabilities of a traditional desktop phone into the PC. Whether in the office or on the road, the SoftPhone can deliver high-quality voice communications through a USB-connected headset or handset. The IP SoftPhone is so versatile that is can serve as a primary desktop phone, a supplemental phone, or as a telecommuting device.
The PC Assistant provides easy access to the most common functions provided by a digital phone. By using this application, users can easily manage their call handling tasks without having to switch their attention between the telephone and PC. Additional features, such as a contact directory, recording capability, and custom hot keys, provide increased value to the NEC UX5000 telephone user.
